What if there was no dry ice left?
We use the amount of dry ice that we need for each package, so it is normal for there to be none left when it reaches you. The dry ice sublimates in transit. If there is dry ice remaining in the package, do not touch with bare hands.

PRODUCT INFO
Will my box be the same every time?
You’ll always receive five 12 oz packs of thick sliced bacon and two 12 oz packs of uncured back bacon, and we’ll include a different specialty cut and a unique recipe with each shipment.
Can I choose the bacons that I’ll receive?
If you would like to select your own bacons, you can buy them individually under the buy bacon link (https://shop.bakersbacon.com/collections/frontpage). Subscription boxes are not customizable at this time.
How long will the bacon last?
An unopened package of bacon is good for 45-60 days in the fridge, or you can freeze for up to a year.
Is the bacon frozen?
No, but our products ship with a small quantity of dry ice to keep cool and get the product to you in the best possible condition.
Is the bacon organic?
No
Is the bacon gluten free or dairy free?
Yes
Does the bacon have nitrates?
Sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite are salts that are used in curing or preserving meat and fish. Our dry cured double applewood smoked bacon contains sodium nitrite. This is added in the curing process to prevent the growth of botulism bacteria, and it also gives the meat it’s pink/red color.
Our back bacon contains nitrates that are derived from celery powder. The USDA considers celery powder or any other “natural” form of nitrate to be a flavoring agent, but not a preserving agent, which is why it is labeled “uncured.”
In our research, based on the work of Dr. Nathan Bryan of the University of Texas, cured meats with nitrates/nitrites are safe to consume as part of a balanced diet. Whether the nitrates come from sodium nitrite or are derived from celery powder does not make one product “healthier” than the other.
Do you offer cooking instructions or recipes for your products?
Yes, each monthly subscription box will include a recipe card.
What is back bacon?
Back Bacon is a naturally smoked bacon with a cut of pork taken from the loin of the pig plus a 2” lip of belly on loin.
What is sous vide?
Sous Vide means “under pressure.” Our sous vide bacon is vacuum sealed and slow cooked under pressure for a long time. It creates a very tender product – similar to consistency of pork belly. It is fully cooked – and just needs to be reheated.
COMPANY INFO
Why Baker’s Bacon?
Baker’s Bacon is top quality, artisanally-made bacon from sustainably-raised heritage breed pork. Sourced from family-owned farms in Iowa, Baker’s Bacon is made from Duroc, Hampshire and Berkshire pigs who roam free as they are fed a vegetarian diet, and never given antibiotics.
Launched in 2011 by British-born Chef Tony Baker because he was unsatisfied with the quality of bacon he found on the market. He originally developed his bacon for other high-end restaurant chefs with a focus on the recipe for the perfect balance of salt, sugar, and smoke. His bacon is sold directly to chefs around the country through a wholesale distributor, but now is available to home chefs.
What are the membership benefits?
